The German Classic Yacht Club - an initiative of 1000 enthusiasts - seeks to capture the growing interest in old yachts and to encourage and bring together all those friendly people who are interested in the preservation of classic yachts for whatever reason, be it their own lifestyle, passion for old boats or just their view of the world.
We already hold here many megabytes of data, photos and reference material on the theme of classic yachting in Germany.

In the future we will maintain new international website with a central worldwide register of all the classic boats. It will be multi-lingual; it will have a search capability and it will be posted on the Web.
Under the heading of "yacht portraits", 70 yachts are presented in great detail (in German, though). They dont only show the variety of classic boat building but also the people behind these boats who have discovered them and who take care of and preserve them.
During every sailing season, numerous meetings and races are organized by committed members of the Classic Yacht Club. You can get detailed information here about most of these events and register for them online. Furthermore, you can look at the results of all the races:

Providing a meetingpoint for owners and devotees of classic yachts.
Preserving traditional yachts, old keelboats, open boats and cruisers built in wood and old motorboats. Protecting these pieces of yachting and sporting history from decay and destruction.
Keeping records in our "Register of Classic Yachts".
Exchanging knowledge about the care and restoration of old yachts and awarding prizes to well-kept boats.
Organising festivals of classic yachting, various cruises in company and regattas, working together with traditionally-minded clubs, associations and yards.
Promoting research into yacht and boatbuilding history, exhibitions and museum projects.
The Freundeskreis provides a multiregional meetingpoint for lovers of traditional open boats, cruisers, keelboats and motoryachts. Contact is kept going through our Journal, which comes out three times a year and our meetings, which take place throughout the year in various formats.
